Encouraging Seniors

People over 70 often lose their independence due to physical limitations. The only exercise some experience is in physical therapy following surgery. Due to such limited activity, they become sedentary and frail; simple movements like getting out of a chair can take major effort. The result is that they gradually rely more and more on family and friends. This doesn’t have to be the case!

Seniors benefit from exercise, just as younger people do. In fact, family and friends will notice changes in a short amount of time. Often a more lively person with greater confidence emerges. Exercise can refresh a senior’s attitude towards life, help them feel more in control and capable. It can renew their will to live.

My Senior Fit program is designed to help elders regain their independence by increasing their physical capabilities. Senior Fit focuses on:
  • Strength
  • Coordination
  • Balance
  • Alertness
  • Daily tasks (i.e. getting out of a chair, picking up something from the floor)
  • Setting goals
  • Creating fun and excitement

Especially if you’re an adult child of an aging parent who cannot be there as much as you would like, consider providing my Senior Fit program as an alternative to your presence. The exercise and interaction on a regular basis can rekindle that missing spark, and provide the peace of mind that comes with knowing your parent is building strength and capability through my thoughtful and sensitive approach.
